John Cavanagh Friary Ironworks is a family business Run Jointly by John Cavanagh and his wife Noreen,Long established which, in its current form, is in existence over 40+ years.
We pride ourselves on efficiency with a reasonable price & we are both fully licensed and insured so you can be confident about our work.
Initially this family 'Blacksmith business' was established in 1890 by John's Grandfather.
The Cavanagh name has been associated with the manufacture of iron products such as road furniture, playground equipment and farm machinery for over 100 years. It has a long and proud tradition of servicing the needs of local communities.
Who we are
Friary Ironworks has two categories of customer, commercial or domestic. The commercial customer base includes, local authorities, property developers, building contractors and retailers. The domestic customer base is primarily made up of homeowners and those with second or additional properties.
The Cavanagh's have developed strong personal relationships and referral networks among domestic and commercial interests in the area. They intend to enhance these further and to develop new market's in the provinces Munster, Leinster and nationwide, if feasible.
The volume of commercial construction activity has been steadily increasing since the early 1990's. Small construction companies are the most rapidly growing sub segment of the commercial and domestic construction industry. These companies are seen as a serious outlet for Friary Ironworks products that have the capacity to respond to the product and service requirements of a changing market.
